The short version
You can browse ASMR Yume without an account, and without giving us anything. If you make an account, sign up for the newsletter, or post a comment, we keep what you gave us so that feature works, and nothing more. We do not sell your information to anyone.
ASMR Yume is run from the United States. This page covers visitors from everywhere, including the extra rights people in the EU and UK have.
What we store, and why
An account: your email address, your password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it back, including us), the display name you choose, and the date you joined. The email is used only to sign you in and to reset your password. For security, the sign-in service also records the internet address and browser used each time you sign in.
What you post and save: your comments, your likes and dislikes, videos you suggest, and the videos you save to your list, each with the date and the account it came from. Your saved list is private to you. Your display name appears next to your comments for everyone to see. Your email address never does.
The newsletter: your email address, the date you signed up, and a private code that powers the unsubscribe link in every email.
We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, birthday or payment details, and we do not track which videos you watch.
Who else receives it
Supabase stores the account, comment, vote, suggestion, saved-list and newsletter data for us. Cloudflare hosts the site, which means it sees the address your browser connects from, as every web host does.
YouTube: video pictures on this site are loaded from YouTube, so YouTube sees your browser request them. A video only starts loading YouTube's player when you press play, and it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). What happens inside the player is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Advertising: this site plans to show ads from Google AdSense, and this page will be updated before any real ads appear. When they do, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads at https://adssettings.google.com, and Google explains how it uses information from sites like this one at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies and browser storage
When you sign in, your browser keeps a small sign-in record so you stay signed in between visits. Signing out removes it. We set no advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
If you use the Dark mode switch, your browser remembers that choice so the next page opens the same way. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Removing your information
Newsletter: every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it deletes your address from our list completely, not just marks it as unsubscribed.
Your account: write to hello@asmryume.com from the email address on the account and we will delete it. Deleting an account also deletes every comment, vote, suggestion and saved video that belongs to it.
A single comment: write to the same address with a link to the video it is under.
If you are in the EU or UK
You have the right to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. Write to hello@asmryume.com to use any of these. We rely on your agreement (for the newsletter) and on providing the service you asked for (for your account and posts). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Age
ASMR Yume is meant for adults. You must be 18 or older to make an account or join the newsletter, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we will delete the account.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. A change that affects what we do with information you have already given us will also be announced to newsletter subscribers.
